Sushruta was a 6th century BC Indian Physician. His contribution was in the field of plastic and cataract surgery. Before Sushruta, Indians carried out reconstructive surgery techniques by 800 BC.

Breast augmentation was the top most procedure. Other top four procedures were: Liposuction, Nose reshaping, Tummy tuck and Buttock augmentation.

Although South Korea is the main center for plastic surgery among all countries, Colombia is in number one because of Liposuction surgery. The top ten plastic surgery conducted countries are: Colombia, India, Dominican Republic, Taiwan, Thailand, The United States, Brazil, Italy, South Korea and Greece.

South Korean capital Seoul is the capital of Plastic surgery. A research which was conducted in 2009 found 1 in 5 women in Seoul experienced plastic surgery. And since 2009, Korea has conducted the most operations per capita with more than 980,000 operations in 2014.
